The story telling fest was great. We watched a couple story tellers that were very different from one another. The first was Kevin Kling. He was hilarious, it was like watching a stand up comedian tell several stories. The second performer was Angel Vigil. He shared stories about his family. He was funny as well but not as universal as Kevin Kling.
The story telling fest. could aid in the classrrom by showing the students that anyone can get up and be successful at this. Kevin Kling has a noticable disablilty, possibly muscular dystraphy. He was great at what he does. This may encourage ESL students to speak up and not be afraid of failure. The may see a wonderful story teller such as Kevin Kling and decide that if he can overcome adversity so can they.
